About the event
How can we observe Loss and Damage and reparations for climate harm in context of human rights within South Asia? What are state's legal obligations towards the vulnerable? And can we collectively re-imagine how we look at these issues in a rights based approach- to help each other better and faster?
In 2024, CIEL published a seminal report on Remedy and Reparation for Climate Harm: The Human Right's Case. Marking that as a starting point of the discussion, HOISA is glad to present its upcoming panel discussion on the above mentioned questions in the context of increasing cooperation in South Asia.
The panel will consist of Lien Vandamme (CIEL), Moumita Das Gupta (Centre for Climate Justice - Bangladesh), Hyeonggeun Ji (Researcher at ISS) and Aditi Shetye (World's Youth for Climate Justice) to open discussion on ways to reduce climate harm.
